Learn NRA Basic Handgun Safety Saturday, February 25, 2012. Time: 9:30-4:30 Lunch 12:00-12:45 (Students can bring a lunch or purchase locally.) Where: Classroom at North Cove Outfitters Cost:$150 N.R.A. Certified Instructor: ED MITCHELL Paid students are issued textbooks prior to the first session. Chapters 1-4 & Laws pertaining to firearms must be read before attending the class. Range certification will be held the following Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 PM. Students will be required to provide proper hearing and eye protection for the Range Session.

Course Description: This is a 10-hour course covering the basic skills necessary for the safe ownership and operation of a handgun. It covers both revolvers and semi-auto pistols, and includes information on loading and unloading procedures, ammunition, gun safety, and shooting fundamentals. Upon successful completion, each student will receive an NRA certificate of achievement. This course meets the education requirement when applying for a State of Connecticut Pistol Permit.
