Kris Vagos Wildlife Biologist with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Stewart B. McKinney NWR
This workshop will teach beginning birders how to identify bird species that remain here for New England’s cold winters. U.S. Fish & Wildlife Refuge Biologist, Kris Vagos, will highlight ways to identify passerines, ducks, raptors, and other birds that one may come across along the coast of Connecticut. She will also demonstrate where to go to see these birds locally, how to view them, and when to look for the species. Examples of birding gear and field guides will be available on site for participant review. Kris will also bring trail maps and birding information for your local wildlife refuge, Stewart B. McKinney. Come and join the fun!
