Beginner Fly Casting ~ May 10th
North Cove Outfitters' Fly Fishing Department would like to offer you the opportunity to learn or improve your fly casting using state-of the-art Sage equipment for the reasonable price of $65.00. The class will be taught by Brad Gage and Brian Owens, a certified Sage instructor and a FFF certified fly casting instructor on Saturday, May 10th. We will meet at the store at 8:50 a.m. and then drive to a local pond about 5 minutes away. In the class you will learn the following casting skills: Roll Casting, Pickup and Lay down, False Casting, Shooting Casts, Line Controlling Casts and a short introduction to the Double Haul Cast.
Classes will be limited so each student will receive adequate personalized instruction. In one half-day session you cannot expect to become an expert fly caster, but the Sage Fly Casting School will introduce you to the proper casting techniques and give you the foundation to refine your casting in your own time. For safety reasons, please bring a pair of sunglasses and a hat, even though no hooks will be used. Also, please dress appropriately for the type of weather expected the day of the class. Call or stop by our Fly Fishing Department to register.
