Paddlesports Demo Weekend is an opportunity for anyone, novice to experts, interested in buying a kayak or canoe to paddle & compare a variety of boats prior to making the purchase decision. North Cove Outfitters will have many boats of different sizes, shapes, fits, and performance characteristics on the beach and ready to try. All boats & accessories will be on sale at seasons lowest prices.

Here's How It Works
$10.00 admission fee. This allows you to demo any boat on the beach!
Those of you who are paddling will then be asked to register and sign a waiver. Once you have registered, you can proceed to try the boats at the beach. When paddling,
you must wear a PFD. PFD's and paddles are provided by the manufacturers and must be returned to that manufacturer’s representative before you try another vendor's boat.
If you have your own PFD we encourage you to bring it, as it will help facilitate getting in boats more quickly.

When you are on the water, test the stability, paddling ease, and maneuverability of the boat. Also, pay attention to how the seat feels because comfort and fit are important. There will be many experienced staff and reps on the beach and on the water to give you test paddling guidance.

Be courteous to other participants, be aware that some will be first time paddlers, so give them plenty of room. Please be considerate of those who are waiting for the boat you are paddling.

Manufacturers representatives, in some cases the guy who designed the boat, will be on hand to discuss the technical aspects of boat design and paddling features important to you, the paddler.

Food and Drink
When you take a paddling break and need to refuel, the Camp Hazen staff is there to provide delicious snacks, meals, and drinks in the camp dining hall. All proceeds from concessions go directly to the Camp.

Things to Remember...
First of all remember that this is early Sring. The water temperature may be COLD! You may get wet! Be sure to bring the following items just in case...
• A towel
• A change of warm clothes

Other items of note.
Be sure to have a back up set of keys and leave valuables home.
• Paddlesports Demo Weekend will take place Rain or Shine.
• No Dogs Allowed.
• Bring a vehicle that will accomodate your new boat.
• Car top systems will be available for sale.
• Most importantly, have a good time and paddle safely!

Take I-95 or I-91 to Route 9.
Take Exit 6 off Route 9 and head west on Route 148 for 1.2 miles to Camp Hazen YMCA. You can’t miss it. Camp Hazen staff will direct you to convenient parking areas and to the camp entrance.
