An instructional breakdown of paddle strokes, focusing on low angle and high angle paddling, will give you a better understanding of what works best for your paddling, allowing you to then understand what paddle features will suit your style. Join Danny Mongno, kayak instructor from Werner Paddles, and learn how to analyze your stroke, work on proper technique and make sure you are using the proper paddle design to find your way to Ultimate Paddle Performance. Werner Paddles is more than a career to Danny Mongno, it offers a lifestyle and a family. The role of sales and field marketing play to his strengths as a kayak coach and offers him plenty of time on the water to follow his passion. Danny is an accomplished white water kayaker, rounding out his love of sea and countless lakes and rivers his long boat takes him to.

What do we think are the challenges that women face as paddlers?
This participatory workshop is designed to help women find answers!
With a little guidance and a lot of fun the goal is to help women gain access to all of the wonderful experiences awaiting them through paddling.
Bio- From white water to quiet water in kayaks and canoes, Cindy considers herself lucky to be able to mark time through paddling adventures. She has several decades of stories, memories and plenty of experiences to draw on. Now she travels representing Confluence Watersports at symposiums and events. She is an ACA Open Coastal kayak instructor. Her favorite watery trails are in the Pacific Northwest, where she lives.

At the end of the day a smiling face is really the best way to gauge the success of a paddling trip. But if what if along with that smile we could have covered more water, made better time, paddled in more advanced conditions? Taking a closer look at the three key body motions involved in kayaking will allow us to reach these goals by, paddling with better performance and using less energy to do it. Join Werner Paddles kayak instructor, Danny Mongno in an interactive instructional piece on Boat and Body Control, the path to performance paddling. This will be an on land presentation, so be prepared to participate. Just bring and open mind and the ability to smile!

Tom Baney is from the South Shore of Rhode Island, focusing on fishing for Striped Bass, Bluefish, Flounder. Tom has been kayaking for over 12 years and focused on kayak fishing four years ago.
Fly Fishing is Toms favorite passion. He was a licensed guide in Idaho and has guided numerous rivers in Pennsylvania. He will discuss the benefits of fishing from a kayak as well as safety issues and crucial equipment. Where to Paddle in CT
Jean Trappani is the Connecticut Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club
chairperson of the Flatwater/Coastal Paddling Committee. Jean's first paddling experiences were canoeing in Westport, CT on a very windy Saugatuck River and sea kayaking off Vancouver Island, British Columbia, and were equally thrilling. She discovered a healthy addiction and has explored CT waterways for the last ten years. Along the way, she
joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary and helped them understand paddlers and vice versa. With various clubs, she has shared the joy of paddling while helping the environment by partnering with watershed and other associations
to get people on the water. She invites you to continue your outdoor activities either as a new paddler ready to learn the ways of water or as a seasoned veteran ready to help others and preserve what we have now.
